Unfortunately, Dickie has been diagnosed with Bilateral Elbow Dysplasia. This is a genetic disease that is extremely painful & crippling. That is why it is so important for breeders to do everything in their power to ensure that they are producing the most genetically sound puppies possible!!

 

Without question, any dog that will potentially be bred should be DNA & Genetic Health tested. They should have their Hips, Elbows, Eyes and Cardiac clearances. The Hips should be good or excellent and all other tests should be Normal!!!

 

Breeders owe this to you but more importantly they owe it to the puppies that they are producing. Dickie was orginally scheduled for surgery on August 21st, but because of his severity he is scheduled to have surgery in Septemeber with multiple specialists. We are hopeful that the surgery will relieve Dickie’s pain and he will continue to be a goofy lovable awesome pet here at Lucky Ranch.
